All but one suspect released after crackdown on illegal raves across Black Country and Staffordshire

Twelve people arrested in connection with the organisation of illegal raves have all been bailed or released pending further investigation.

It comes after 13 arrests were made over the weekend as more illegal gatherings were expected in Staffordshire.

Officers from both West Midlands Police and Staffordshire Police were out in force on Saturday night, doing "all they can" to stop the illegal events from taking place.

Staffordshire officers also issued a dispersal order last night at Chasewater Country Park after rumours that a rave was due to be held there.

Over in the West Midlands, police said they moved some people on from a remote location in Walsall but reported no significant gatherings.

A 20-year-old from Cannock, 23-year-old man from Stafford, 19-year-old man from Redditch, 20-year-old man from Dudley, and 20-year-old from Dudley, all arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause a public nuisance, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A 26-year-old man, from Birmingham, arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs, taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance, has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

A 33-year-old man, from Rugeley, arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a motor vehicle while above the alcohol limit was released with no further action.

A 23-year-old man, from West Bromwich, arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and possession of a psychoactive substance in a custodial institution has been released under investigation pending further investigation.

He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a psychoactive substance with intent to supply, which has been resulted as no further action.

A 31-year-old woman, from Dudley, arrested on suspicion of possession of a psychoactive substance with intent to supply has been released under investigation pending further investigation.

A 32-year-old man, a 27-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, all from Smethwick, arrested on suspicion of possession of a psychoactive substance with intent to supply have been released no further action.
