West Bromwich man charged after gun found in car

A man has been charged after a gun was found in a car in West Bromwich.

The revolver was found in the centre console of a Renault Megane on Nicholls Street shortly before 8pm on Monday.

Both the car and the gun have been recovered by West Midlands Police for forensic examination.

Nathan Stewart was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a certificate, possession of ammunition and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The 29-year-old, of Nicholls Street, was due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
