Arrest after 600 cannabis plants found at Walsall house

A man has been arrested after nearly 600 cannabis plants were found during a police raid at a house in Walsall.

Officers from West Midlands Police carried out a warrant at the property in Gillity Avenue, at around 7am on Tuesday morning.

Once inside, they discovered nearly 600 cannabis plants.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the warrant and remains in police custody.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "We conducted a warrant at a property in Gillity Avenue, Walsall at 7am today where nearly 600 cannabis plants were recovered.

"A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity. He remains in police custody."
