Cannabis factory discovered after fire sat Dudley house

A cannabis factory was discovered after a fire broke out at a house in Dudley today.

Police were called by firefighters who were first on the scene in Cambridge Road this morning.

No one was inside the property when emergency services arrived.

It is not believed the fire was started deliberately.

Enquiries are taking place into who owned and operated the cannabis factory.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We were alerted by the fire service after a cannabis factory was discovered at a house that was on fire in Cambridge Road, Dudley, today at about 8.45am.

"No one was at the property at the time and there were no injuries.

"We do not believe the fire was started deliberately and the building has now been made safe."
