Beacon’s CEO Lisa Cowley’s blue Mitsubishi Barbarian was stolen from Gloucestershire overnight between Thursday and Friday.

The charity appealed on social media to try to trace the missing vehicle. They said: “After being lifted by the support we have had, we are now so upset that our CEO’s car has been stolen overnight.

“It’s a blue Mitsubishi Barbarian stolen from the Mickleton, Gloucestershire area, reg WN18 FBC. If you do have any info or can help please get in touch.”

Lisa said: “If you have seen our story you will know how much the charity has been struggling financially and emotionally as we continue to provide care for people who need us.

More Covid-19 coverage:

She said: “We have been given so much hope and positivity by the public who have been supporting us, but this has really bought us back down to earth with a bang.

"It’s so upsetting but the battles we are facing as a charity are far worse.

"Hopefully someone may have information or can help. I need to be able to get to the centre but won’t let anyone down.”

Lisa told this week how she has been helping on the front line as the charity adapts during the coronavirus crisis.

As a result the charity, which has been supporting people with sight loss in the region for more than 145 years, is losing more than £15,000 a week.
