Arrest as man seriously injured in fight at Coseley house

A man was taken to hospital with a serious injury after a fight at a house in Coseley.

A second man, 28, was arrested following the fight at the property in Elmdale Road at around 3pm on Sunday, police said.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

The Midlands Air Ambulance was seen in the area during Sunday afternoon, but it is not yet known if the man was taken to hospital by land or air ambulance.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of a fight at a property in Elmdale Road, Coseley, around 3pm on Sunday.

"A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody for questioning."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: ""We were called to reports of a medical case in a property on Elmdale Road, Coseley, at 2.55pm on Sunday.

"Two ambulances and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT on board attended the scene.

"One man received emergency treatment on scene before being taken by land ambulance on blue lights to hospital for further emergency care."
