Two from Walsall stopped and searched as part of Staffordshire Police operation

Two people from Walsall Wood were stopped and searched by police officers in Staffordshire as part of an operation.

The Staffordshire Police operation was carried out in Tamworth – but saw two people from Walsall Wood stopped and searched

Three men and a woman were stopped as part of the Staffordshire Police operation in the Tamworth area on Friday, March 20.

A 27-year-old man from Walsall Wood was found with phones and hundreds of pounds in cash and was arrested by officers for supplying class A drugs. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

While a woman, also aged 27 years old and from Walsall Wood, was issued with a community resolution order for possession of cannabis.

Two men, aged 39 and 43 years old, and from Tamworth, were searched in the Belgrave Lakes area off Birds Bush Road at around 3.30pm and a small amount of class A drugs were found.

A spokesman from Staffordshire Police said one of the men is to be interviewed about the alleged offence.
