Man in court over stab attack in Walsall

A man has appeared in court charged after an alleged stabbing in Walsall.

Mohammed Riswan, aged 39, has denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was stabbed in Wednesbury Road, Pleck, shortly before 12pm on Friday.

His condition was not thought to be life-threatening.

Riswan, of Little London in Caldmore, Walsall, also faces charges of possession of an offensive weapon and wounding with intent.

He appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Monday where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Riswan will appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on March 23. He was remanded in custody.
