Woman denies role in death of Burntwood student in crash
A woman has appeared in court after a Burntwood man died in a car crash.
Megan Wagstaff pleaded not guilty at Warwick Crown Court to causing the death of Aston University student Harry Jenks in March last year by dangerous driving.
Mr Jenks died at the scene of a crash in Coleshill Road, Atherstone, at night on March 25.
He was in the back of a Seat Ibiza which crashed near to Atherstone Golf Club.
The car ended up in a ditch.
Wagstaff, 21, of Sutton Coldfield, and another woman who was a front-seat passenger, were also injured in the crash.
A second charge of causing death by careless driving was added to the indictment.
Wagstaff also pleaded not guilty to causing Mr Jenks’s death by careless driving.
The case was adjourned for trial, which is expected to take place in late July, and Wagstaff was granted bail.
