Man attacks security guards with hammer outside Willenhall shop
Two security guards were attacked by a man with a hammer outside a Willenhall supermarket.
The attack took place outside the Tesco Express, in High Road, just before 4.45pm on Friday.
Both security guards were taken to hospital to be checked over, but were not seriously injured.
Police have now launched an investigation to trace the attacker.
A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "An investigation has been launched after two security guards were attacked by a man wielding a hammer outside Tesco Express in High Road, Willenhall, just before 4.45pm on Friday.
"Both victims were taken to hospital for check-ups but were not seriously injured.
"The attacker made off empty handed.
"Enquiries are on-going. Any witnesses are urged to contact West Midlands Police."
