A school has sent out a warning to parents after a pupil was followed home by a car.

Pool Hayes Academy in Willenhall posted on social media saying a child was followed by a driver yesterday evening.

The school also said the driver tried to encourage the child to approach the car, but the child got home safely.

The tweet said: "Alert: A parent has just informed us that their child was followed home this evening by a red car.

"The driver of the car also tried to encourage the child to approach the car.

"The child is safe and the police have been contacted but we wanted to make you aware of this so you can."

West Midlands Police has been asked to comment.
