Arrests as replica gun found after Wolverhampton 'machete attack'

Two people were arrested after reports of a machete attack in Wolverhampton.

Officers were called to Showell Road in Low Hill just after 6pm on Friday to reports of a man being attacked with a machete.

One man suffered minor hand injuries during the incident, West Midlands Police said.

A 29-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested after a replica gun was found in a car at the scene.

West Midlands Police are still investigating and have asked for anyone with information to come forward by calling 101.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police were called just after 6pm yesterday to Showell Road, Wolverhampton, to reports that a man was being attacked with a machete and a car was damaged.

"A 29-year-old man and a woman aged 31 were arrested after an imitation firearm was recovered from a car at the scene.

"One man suffered minor hand injuries, and the investigation continues.
