Man arrested after dog fatally attacks pet cat

A man has been arrested after a dog was let loose to fatally maul a cat in Walsall.

The 30-year-old − who was wanted for questioning about the dog attack in Woodlands Crescent, Pelsall on October 23 − was arrested on Tuesday afternoon.

He has been arrested on suspicion of cruelty to animals and remains in police custody.

Chief Superintendent Andy Parsons, from Walsall police, said: "I want to thank the community and members of the public for sharing our appeal and providing information to the police.
