Police CCTV image blasted

Social media users have criticised a CCTV image released by police in the search for a burglary suspect.

Sandwell Police released the image online, after a burglary in West Bromwich on August 2.

But some have struggled to see a man in the image – with others suggesting it "looks like a dolphin".

One commenter said: "This is the most ridiculous image I have ever seen. Even my 11-year-old son could pass for this picture if he went out on his own."

Another asked: "Is he in a goldfish bowl?"

One pointed out: "That technically could be anyone who wears a cap."

Another joked: "I thought it was a spaceship... Then I saw a nose."

But one woman said she would recognise him if it was a member of her family, saying: "I'm a mum and a grandmother. I know I could recognise no matter how blurry the image I'd know if it was any of my family so keep sharing." Sandwell Police posted on Facebook alongside the image saying: "We want to speak to this man following a burglary in West Bromwich.

"A burglar gained access to an address in Esher Road in the early hours of 2 August and stole a handbag.

"It contained a bank card which was then used to make several transactions.
