People pretending to be from Catherine Cares, a business which provides services for adults with learning difficulties and mental health, have been knocking on doors in the area.

Police have now confirmed these collectors are not from Catherine Cares and warned residents not to donate any cash.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "I have been made aware of people knocking on doors in the Great Wyrley area saying they are collecting money on behalf of Catherine Cares which are based in Great Wyrley.

"Catherine Cares would like to make all residents aware that they are not collecting on behalf of them so please do not donate any money."
