Man in hospital after 'targeted' stabbing near Molineux

A man has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed in what is believed to have been a targeted attack Wolverhampton today.

The man, aged in his 30s, was found with stab wounds to his arm near Molineux on Staveley Road in Dunstall Hill just before midday.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Police were called to a stabbing in Staveley Road, Wolverhampton, just before midday.

"A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital with an arm injury which is not life threatening.

"It is believed to have been a targeted attack."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of an assault on Staveley Road, Wolverhampton at 11.59am.

“We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who has been treated for stab wounds.

"His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, but he has been taken to hospital for further assessment."
