CCTV has been released showing the moment a cash box courier was robbed outside a Black Country KFC.

CCTV shows a man who robbed a cash-in-transit driver in Wednesbury

In the video a person in a hi-vis boiler suit can be struggling with a Loomis cash-in-transit driver in the restaurant car park before running away with the box.

The robbery happened outside KFC in Axeltree Way, Wednesbury - near TK Maxx and IKEA - at around 9.30am on August 12 but the CCTV footage has only been released today.

West Midlands Police said the box contained "thousands of pounds" but was unable to give a precise figure for the amount taken.

Detectives are appealing for help identifying the suspect, although their face is not clearly visibly in the CCTV footage.

They arrived and left in a black Ford C-Max which had been stolen from the Northfield area of Birmingham two days earlier, officers said.
