Suspended sentence for Dudley woman caught with 2,000 indecent images
A Black Country woman found with almost 2,000 indecent images, including many of children, has been given a suspended sentence.
Jasmine Rowbottom was arrested after a raid by the Online Child Exploitation Team at her home in Dudley in June 2016.
More than 50 pieces of computer equipment were then examined as part of what police described as a "painstaking" investigation.
The 24-year-old denied the offences, claiming the images must have been caused by a virus or a USB stick given to her years before.
However forensic experts proved this was not the case and Rowbottom was found guilty of making indecent images and movies of children and possession of extreme photography.
Rowbottom, now of Mowbreck Caravan Park in Wesham, Preston, was given a 21-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and a two-year supervision order.
She was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years and given a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.
