A final injunction has been granted in relation to Rivers House, Dolphin House – including the car park, Dolphin Close and Canalside Close.

This action has been taken to manage a significant amount of nuisance that has been caused by an unauthorised encampment and restrains people from driving on, setting up encampments, causing a nuisance or engaging in anti-social behaviour.

The injunction, obtained from Walsall's County Court on October 15 has followed a spate of disturbances for residents, the local community and local businesses.

Councillor Garry Perry portfolio holder for community safety said: “The council has taken this action responding to concerns regarding the vulnerabilities of individuals living in this area.

"Whilst we recognise the overall needs of the travelling community themselves, on this occasion it was felt that there were mitigating circumstances to outweigh those considerations.

"The injunction will not restrict the everyday use of the public highway which is key to the operation of local businesses.”
