Three suspects forced their way into the house in Kenilworth Road, Balsall Common, where they demanded cash.

A 36-year-old man sustained serious injuries, including deep cuts to his head, leg and hand after being attacked by the trio, but he managed to fend them off and they fled empty-handed.

On the way out they may have sprayed a substance, as all five people in the house at the time – including three children – had to be treated by paramedics, police said.

CCTV has shoes the suspects arrived and left in a white Porsche Cayenne just after 10.30pm on September 27.
