The 39-year-old from Kingstanding died in hospital on Sunday evening. A post mortem to establish the cause of death will take place in due course.

A 23-year-old woman who was previously charged with robbery has been re-arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into police custody for questioning.

A 26-year-old man remanded in custody accused of robbery will also be re-questioned in relation to murder.

In a statement, Mr Lloyd’s family said: "Mark was a much-loved father, brother, son, partner and friend to so many people. He has been taken from us in the most unfair of ways. He will be missed so much by us all."

Detective Inspector Jim Church, from West Midlands Police, said: "This has been a deeply distressing time for Mr Lloyd’s family and our thoughts are with them as they come to terms with the loss of a loved one.

"This is now a murder investigation and we’re urging anyone who was in the area at the time, and has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch as soon as possible."
