Attempted murder arrest after stab attack outside pub

A teenager was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing outside a pub.

Police and paramedics were called to Wolverhampton Street at around 11.15pm

The 21-year-old victim was attacked near the Herbert's Park Tavern in Darlaston at around 11.15pm on Wednesday.

He was stabbed in the leg and later taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

A 19-year-old man who handed himself into police has been released on bail.

It comes after a 21-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of affray, was also released while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Chris Fox from FCID said: "I want to reassure the public that incidents like this are rare and we are working to establish the events leading up to this terrible incident.

"CCTV is being reviewed and we continue to appeal to anyone with information no matter how insignificant it may seem to get in touch, as it could be vital to our investigation."
