Amjad Khan, aged 32, was found with head injuries in Oldbury on June 8 and died five days later in hospital on June 13.

Derek Brennan, 31, from the Smethwick area, and Daman Sehra, 22, of no fixed address, have been charged with Mr Khan's murder.

They appeared at Walsall Magistrates' Court on Tuesday via video link from HMP Hewell, Redditch, where both men confirmed their names and dates of birth.

Brennan and Sehra were remanded in custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday.

Both men were originally charged with attempted murder, but since Mr Khan died the charges have been changed to murder.

Mr Khan, from Handsworth, was discovered seriously injured after police were called to a property in Yardley Close, Bristnall Fields, shortly before 1am on June 8.
