The van careered off the road, overturned and smashed into a parked car at around 10.30pm yesterday.

Paramedics attended the scene on St Peter's Road in Netherton and took the man to Russells Hall Hospital, where he remained on Monday afternoon although his injuries are not believed to be serious.

Debris from the crash was strewn across the street and driveway after a small wall was damaged alongside the parked car.

Police confirmed that the 38-year-old from Dudley was arrested, but said that he's yet to enter custody while he recovers in hospital.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by the police at 10.37pm to reports of an RTC involving a on car.

"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended and we treated and conveyed one man to Russells Hall Hospital."
