Man charged with robbery after Argos raid in Smethwick

A 25-year-old man has been charged with robbery and possession of a knife after a raid on an Argos store in the Black Country.

Nathaniel Bell, aged 25 of no fixed address, will appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on July 22 in connection with the robbery at the Argos store on Bearwood Road, Smethwick.

He had appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court on Monday.

The raid took place just before 5am on Saturday which saw a staff member threatened with a knife.

Police believe three men entered the rear of the store before the raid took place.

No one was injured and enquiries are ongoing.
