Driver attacked by group with baseball bat in West Bromwich

A driver was taken to hospital after being attacked by a group of men with a baseball bat in West Bromwich.

The victim was attacked at about 8.15pm on Tuesday at the junction of Anson Road and Ashmole Road.

The driver was taken to hospital after the group fled on foot and in a Mercedes.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to the junction of Anson Road and Ashmole Road, West Bromwich at 8.15pm on June 18.

"A Mercedes driver and several other men attacked another driver with a baseball bat.

"They took the keys from his car before the group fled on foot and in the Mercedes.

"He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not believed to be serious."
