Man charged with theft after bagged coins found in West Bromwich

A man has appeared in court after a number of bagged coins were found in West Bromwich.

Officers were called to reports of a disorder at the junction of Vicarage Road and Hateley Heath, West Bromwich, at 4.20pm on Thursday.

The force found a quantity of coins, which are believed to have been stolen from a van in Wednesbury, upon arrival.

Charles McDonagh, of Naas Lane, Brookthorpe in Gloucester, pleaded not guilty to theft at Walsall Magistrates' Court and was released on conditional bail.

The 35-year-old will next appear at Walsall Magistrates' Court on June 6.
