Three teenagers have been charged after a man was shot in Wolverhampton this week.

Police in Joan Street, Wolverhampton, after a shooting

The victim, a man in his 30s, was shot in Joan Street in the Parkfields area of the city at around 5pm on Tuesday.

He was treated in hospital for what is thought to be a shotgun wound and has since been released.

Four teenagers were arrested shortly after the incident and last night police charged three of them with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Elijah Edwards, aged 18, and Micah Lewis, 19, appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court today alongside a 16-year-old who cannot be named due to his age.

Edwards, of Pond Land, and Lewis, of Legge Street, both live metres away from where the shooting happened.

All three of them have been remanded in custody and will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 24.

A 13-year-old boy from Bilston, who was the fourth person arrested at the time, has been bailed as police continue to investigate.

His bail conditions mean that he is currently banned from the Parkfields area and is required to live and sleep at a specific address.

The shooting was the third shotgun attack in three days in the Black Country after a man was critically injured in a shooting in a barber shop in Walsall on Sunday, and a shotgun was fired on a street in Halesowen on Monday, where no one was injured.

Police are appealing for anyone with information on or near Joan Street at the time of the attack to come forward.
