Officers have today revealed they are seeking information about a white BMW X1 which may have been in the area when a 16-year-old boy was shot in the head two weeks ago.

The boy remains in a serious condition in hospital after he was injured by a shotgun in Graiseley Street, Pennfields, on May 6.

And detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a white BMW X1 in the area when the attack happened just before 8pm.

A 20-year-old man and two boys, aged 15 and 17, were arrested in connection with the attack but were later released without charge.

Detective Inspector Jackie Nicholson, from West Midlands Police, said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who might have seen a white BMW X1 in the area at the time, before or after the incident to get in touch.

“No matter how insignificant you feel the information may be, it could really help with our investigation as we continue to follow forensic and CCTV enquiries."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via live chat at between 8am and midnight or to call 101 anytime.

Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting crime reference 20WV/108168F/19.
