Boy, 16, taken to hospital after Great Barr stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed in Great Barr.

The teenager was discovered by police with stab wounds in a field off Tanhouse Avenue around 3.30pm on Saturday.

The boy was receiving hospital treatment and is in a stable condition, police said.

West Midlands Police has launched an appeal in a bid to urge anyone with information to come forward.

DS Kamran Tehzeeb, from Force CID, said: "We're in the early stages of our investigation and keen to hear from anyone who can help us establish the circumstances leading up to this stabbing."
