The note pinned on the grandmother's door

The grandmother pinned a note to her front door of her Willenhall home appealing directly to the thief to return her mobile.

The note, left on a flat in Cumberland Road, says: "To whoever broke into my flat (home) two weeks ago today while I was gardening and stolen my silver IMO phone with a Captain Jack sticker on the back, please return it.

"It has the very last video of my late husband on it (my children's and grandchildren's dad and grandad respectfully).

"The video was taken in 2017 at Christmas and he passed away September 2018, so this is the last memory we have.

"I am the only one who had the video, so you can imagine how much it means to my family.

"Please, just return the phone, complete with the sim card."

Now MP Eddie Hughes has shared the appeal on social media saying: "Sad note on the front door of a flat in Cumberland Road, #Willenhall from an elderly lady who lost irreplaceable video of her late husband when her phone was stolen.

"I pray her phone is returned."

He added: "One of my councillor colleagues was out and saw the note and sent it to me asking me to share it online.

"I think there are often unintended consequences associated with this type of crime.

"It's not just the theft of a phone, but it's also the precious and irreplaceable memories, not just for her but obviously this man was a father and grandfather too, so the impact of this on the entire family is really sad.

"Let's hope that this appeals to the thief's conscience and they return it to her."
