Man stabbed several times in the stomach in Stourbridge attack

A man was stabbed several times to the stomach after a violent attack in Stourbridge town centre.

The 42-year-old man had confronted a group of men in the early hours of Saturday, before the group attacked him.

An 18-year-old woman was also punched in the face during the disorder which happened between 3.15am and 3.45am.

West Midlands Police has now launched an investigation into the stabbing and is reviewing CCTV in the area to help with their enquiries.

A spokesman for the force said: "Following an incident earlier in the evening, a 42-year-old man confronted a group of men, before he was stabbed several times in the stomach.

"He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries and has since been released.

"During the disorder, an 18-year-old woman was punched in the face, she suffered minor injuries and went to hospital as a precaution.

"CCTV is currently being reviewed and investigations are ongoing."
