Two women charged after car crash outside Tesco Express

Two women have been charged after a crash where a car overturned.

Laura Campbell, aged 40, and Katie Grantham, aged 34, were arrested after the crash on Lichfield Road, Wednesfield on Easter Monday.

It happened at around 7pm nearby to the Tesco Express and the Esso fuel station, which is next to the junction for Stubby Lane.

Two women suffered minor injuries in the crash, which saw both cars battered, and one land on its roof.

Campbell has been charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving without insurance, driving whilst disqualified, common assault, aggravated vehicle taking and two counts of theft from a shop.

Grantham has been charged with three counts of theft from a shop and common assault, as well as travelling in a car which was taken without the owner’s consent.

The pair, who are both of Merrick Road, Wednesfield, appeared in Walsall Magistrates' Court today.

They were both remanded in custody and will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on May 22.
