Man charged with wounding after disorder at West Bromwich pub

A man has been charged with wounding after a 29-year-old man suffered a serious head injury after being knocked unconscious at a Black Country pub.

The incident unfolded at the Fox & Goose pub in Greets Green Road, West Bromwich, shortly before 8pm on Friday.

A 34-year-old man from Rowley Regis has now been charged with wounding with intent and appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court this morning, where he was remanded in custody.

He will next appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on May 7.

The 29-year-old victim had been in hospital in a serious condition over the weekend, a police spokesman said.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "Nathan Bell, aged 34, of Highmoor Road in Rowley Regis has been charged with wounding with intent and appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court this morning."

The road was sealed off outside the pub on Friday night as police launched an investigation. A blue tent was set up and remained there on Saturday morning as police continued to investigate the incident.
