Randhir Jutla, aged 39, was jailed at Stafford Crown Court after he was found guilty of supplying heroin and driving while over the prescribed limit for cannabis.

The court heard that Jutla, of Dunstall Avenue, Wolverhampton, was stopped while driving along Wolverhampton Road, in Stafford, on August 2, 2017.

Jutla and his car were searched and two phones and £570 in cash found.

One of the phones contained multiple messages consistent with the supply of heroin from March 23, 2017, onwards.

A search followed at Jutla’s home and heroin residue, digital scales with heroin on them, uncounted cash and a safe, and further heroin traces on cards were discovered.

Drug testing was carried out and Jutla was found to be over the prescribed limit for cannabis.

Sergeant Tom Fotherby, of Stafford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This is a significant sentence and sends out a clear message that we will work to bring those dealing drugs and causing misery to court.

“My team has had some great results in recent months and we will continue to work to bring offenders to justice.”

Jutla was sentenced on March 28.
