Man follows woman and snatches handbag in middle of night in Stafford

A man followed a woman in the middle of the night before stealing her handbag in Stafford.

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after the 50-year-old woman was followed at around 3am on February 24.

The woman was followed along Gaol Road, left at the roundabout onto Browning Street and then immediately right into Abbots Walk where a man snatched her handbag.

The offender than made off towards the roundabout on Browning Street, back on himself onto Marston Road and past the Four Crosses pub.

A small amount of cash was taken and the handbag was later found dumped between two bins on a car park near Shepherds Bush Street.

Anyone that may have seen anything suspicious or may recognise the man pictured is asked to email Howard.Davies@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 132 of February 24.
