Woman, 20, sexually assaulted in Stourbridge park

A 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted during an attack as she walked through a park.

Police have launched an investigation after the woman was grabbed in Stevens Park, Wollescote, Stourbridge, and knocked to the ground.

It happened as she walked over a bridge near Wollescote Road between 6.30pm and 7.20pm on Thursday.

The attacker then walked off along the footpath. He was described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, of muscular build with dirty blonde stubble around his neck and he was wearing a dark grey hoody top.

West Midlands Police has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

People have also been urged not to "take matters into their own hands" after comments were posted online.

Bob Brown, from West Bromwich Public Protection Unit, said: “We are seeking CCTV footage and any other evidence that will help us to identify the offender. We are appealing to anyone with any information which may assist our investigation to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to the local community not to take matters into their own hands as I am aware of some comments on a local Facebook page. There will be additional patrols in the area conducted by local officers.”
