Stourbridge Road violence: Lye street fight leaves two injured

Police are investigating after a man was run down by a car while another was slashed in the arm.

A fight broke out on a busy road in Stourbridge which left one man with broken leg after he was hit by a car.

Another man suffered a slash wound to his arm after being hit by a weapon as trouble flared in Lye.

Violence broke out at around 5pm on Friday night at the junction of Stourbridge Road and Cemetery Road.

It is unclear what led to the trouble but two men were injured in the attack.

The area was cordoned off by police for several hours as an investigation got under way.

West Midlands Police said both men were taken to hospital for further treatment.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the fight.
