Arrests as 'masked youths threaten to stab police' in Bentley Bridge

Masked youths attacked police officers and threatened to stab them in Wednesfield, police said.

Police received reports of a group 'causing chaos' on bikes around Bentley Bridge last night, and when officers arrived they were assaulted by the group.

A 'large disorder' unfolded in Well Lane at around 7.20pm, officers said on social media.

Three boys were arrested and three bikes were seized. The suspects remained in custody this morning.

Wednesfield Police tweeted saying: "Large disorder unfolded resulting in three arrests and three bikes seized.

"Thanks to all the officers and teams that responded to assist us."

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A 16-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of assaulting a PCSO and a 15-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of a public order offence. They are currently in custody for questioning."
