West Midlands Police found Mrs Page's body at the terraced house in James Street on Friday evening. The 68-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The result of the post mortem carried out yesterday was inconclusive, West Midlands Police said, but the officers said Mrs Page had suffered a head injury.

In a statement released via the police, her family paid tribute, describing her as a "kind animal lover and mother whose life was tragically cut short".

"She will be greatly missed by her family and friends," the statement added.

Mrs Page’s relatives are being supported by a specialist police family liaison officer.
