Knifemen gatecrash 18th birthday party in Walsall

A group of people with large knives gatecrashed an 18th birthday party in Walsall.

Police were called to Primley Avenue, Alumwell, to reports of a disturbance and later found a number of knives and a pair of scissors in neighbouring gardens.

A spokesman for Pleck Neighbourhood Team said: "On January 5 a disturbance took place in Primley Avenue, Alumwell, Walsall.

"An 18th birthday party was disrupted by a group intent on gate-crashing and causing trouble.

"With the help of the community, reporting incidents and that some of the group were in possession of weapons, including large knives, some of which were recovered later.

"Officers including the Pleck Neighbourhood Team were able to disrupt the group and prevent the disturbance becoming more serious and anyone getting seriously injured.

"The community can help with the issues relating to knife crime and preventing their children from carrying knives. #knifecrime #RealKnivesRealLives."
