Man admits injuring police officer in Stafford crash

A 26-year-old man has pleaded guilty to wounding a police officer who was struck by his car in Stafford.

Gurajdeep Malhi, of Charnley Road, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm of Pc Claire Bond with intent to resist arrest on September 23.

The officer and mother had to undergo a five hour operation on her shattered ankle following the incident.

Malhi also pleaded guilty to driving dangerously in and around Stafford, driving whilst disqualified in Corporation Street, Stafford, and driving without insurance and failing to stop.

He has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on January 25.

Lucy Maria Bullmore, aged 31, of Morton Road, Stafford, pleaded guilty to driving a Range Rover Evoque dangerously in Stafford on the same day and failing to provide a specimen for breath analysis and failing to stop.

She has unconditional bail and will also be sentenced on January 25.

Both appeared at Stafford Crown Court yesterday.
