Machetes used in West Bromwich carjacking

A car was stolen by robbers armed with machetes in a terrifying Black Country carjacking.

The car was stolen in West Bromwich at about 6.30pm yesterday and the suspects were arrested shortly afterwards, West Midlands Police Firearms Operations Unit said.

The unit tweeted saying: "Excellent work by D unit ARV’s this evening. Shortly after a vehicle was stolen in Sandwell by suspects brandishing machetes the suspects were under arrest.

"The stolen vehicle was recovered and another stolen vehicle they were using was recovered."
