Man injured after shooting near Great Barr

A man suffered a gunshot wound after an attack near Great Barr.

Police say the victim, aged 23, was taken to hospital after the shooting in the Tower Hill area of Perry Barr.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Terrified members of the public called police after a gunshot was heard near the junction of Rocky Lane with Tower Hill.

It happened at around 10.30pm on Wednesday at the junction near shops and close to Dorrington Academy.

No arrests have been made but police are investigating is under way.
