Ashley Wilson, aged 27 and from Solihull, has been charged with killing Mr Helm, who was stabbed to death two weeks ago.

Wilson, who was arrested yesterday, has also been charged with two counts of criminal damage and arson.

It comes after Danny Cooper, aged 31 and from Chelmsley Wood, was also charged with Mr Helm's murder.

Mr Helm was pronounced dead at the scene after he was stabbed in Raven Crescent, Ashmore Park, at around 5.15am on October 12.

A JustGiving page has since raised more than £10,500 for the 37-year-old's family, who described Mr Helm as "a loving son, husband and father to four young children".

Wilson, of Guernsey Drive, appeared at Walsall Magistrates' Court this morning.

Cooper, of Maytree Close, appeared at the same court yesterday charged with murder, two counts of assault, two counts of criminal damage and arson.

Both men will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the West Midlands Police Homicide Team, said: “Our thoughts continue to remain with Richard’s family who have of course been kept fully updated about this development."
