Police investigate offensive Nic Cruwys tweets
Tweets directed at a Watford fan who was seriously injured after an attack by Wolves fans are being investigated by police.
Nic Cruwys was brutally beaten after a game in March 2015 by six Wolves fans.
Four were later jailed and two others received suspended sentences.
Watford returned to Molineux for the first time since that incident on Saturday, winning 2-0 against Nuno Espirito Santo's team.
And a number of 'totally unacceptable and offensive tweets' were posted, according to Hertfordshire Police. Two of those tweets are now being investigated.
West Midlands Police's Football Unit said today: "We've been made aware by Hertfordshire Police of two Twitter messages concerning a Watford fan that were posted on the day of Saturday's Wolves vs Watford game.
"These are being investigated by West Midlands Police as malicious communication offences and enquiries are continuing."
During the trial, CCTV footage taken from Carvers showed Mr Cruwys suffering repeated brutal punches and kicks.
The horrific attack left him in a coma for weeks.
A JustGiving campaign raised £40,000 after being set up by Wolves fan Ollie Flloyd.
