Man stabbed after knife violence in Wolverhampton city centre

A man was stabbed and two others assaulted after violence flared in Wolverhampton city centre.

A man was stabbed in Queen Street near the Express & Star offices in the early hours

Trouble broke out in Queen Street, near the Express & Star head office, at around 5am today.

Officers from the West Midlands Police response team stayed with the knife victim while he was taken to hospital.

Police tweeted: "Another senseless knife attack #LivesNotKnives"

A force spokeswoman said officers were initially called to reports of disorder.

Three men, aged in their 20s, were taken to hospital where their conditions are described as stable.

The attack happened at around 5am in Queen Street

Detectives are exploring CCTV in the area and asking for witnesses to contact them quoting log 478 of 29/9.
