The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being found by a member of the public near the KFC in Marston Road on Friday night.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “He is currently being treated in hospital for his injuries which are believed to be life threatening.

“Officers are searching CCTV and investigations are on-going to establish the circumstances surrounding his injuries.”

The man was discovered at about 10pm on Friday but on Sunday police were no closer to discovering what had happened to the man and how he had sustained his injuries.

He is no longer fighting for his life and a police spokeswoman confirmed his condition is 'serious but stable'.

It was business as usual earlier today in Marston Road, with no evidence of the events that had occurred just two nights before.

Any witnesses are urged to come forward by officers.

Those with information can contact the police on 101 quoting log number 363 of September 8 or via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am to midnight.
