A man was arrested in Smethwick after the car he was driving smashed into a taxi, injuring three people.
The Audi was reportedly being pursued by police through the town when it ploughed into a passing people carrier at the junction of Holly Lane and St Paul’s Road on Friday.
West Midlands Police said a 36-year-old man has since been charged with failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision, drink driving and possession of cannabis.
He has been bailed to appear before Walsall Magistrates Court on 4 October.
The three people in the taxi were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
