Man arrested for murder over shooting in Wolverhampton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a shooting in Wolverhampton.

Dwaine Haughton, aged 24, died after being shot in the chest in Valley Road in Park Village on July 20.

Detectives believe it was a targeted attack.

A 21-year-old man from Wolverhampton was arrested on suspicion of murder by police on Tuesday and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

After the attack, Dwaine's family paid tribute to "the most caring, loving and thoughtful boyfriend," while armed patrols were increased across the city.

Dwaine was driven to New Cross Hospital, just a few hundred yards from the shooting, but died in the early hours of the following morning after being transferred to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
